The purpose of this goal it to promote health equity and honor diversity among Iowa's children and youth with special health care needs and their families. As part of this goal, staff are working to:
- Identify underserved populations and health disparities among Iowa families of children and youth with special health care needs.
- Increase understanding of the importance of engaging families with cultural differences.
- Provide professional resources and trainings related to health equity and actionable steps for addressing health equity in the workplace and everyday life.
- Develop strategies to accomplish health equity focused initiatives within various program activities.
