Parent Management Training
Parent Management Training helps to change how a child responds in interpersonal situations at home, at school, and in the community with teachers, parents, peers, and siblings. This treatment uses learning-based procedures to increase desired behaviors and includes modeling, positive reinforcement, and repeated rehearsal.
Part 1 will include training in the Kazdin Method through online modules that must be completed prior to the Zoom session. This portion of the training includes 9 1/2 hours of pre-recorded instructional presentations. Click here for more information about this part of the training.
Part 2 will be held via Zoom on April 25, 2025 and will include a day of instruction and case consultation with two child psychologists. Participants will be asked to prepare and bring case questions for consultation on Day 2, as this will ensure a productive discussion and help participants better understand and apply the training information.
Participants must have a Master's degree or higher in the mental health field. Training will be limited to 12 participants.

- The purpose of this FREE training is to increase the number of mental health providers in Iowa who are able to provide evidence-based therapies to children and families.
- Because space is limited, your are encouraged to apply only if you are sure you can complete both parts of the training.

Application deadline is February 21, 2025. All applications will be reviewed within two weeks and applicants will be notified by March 7, 2025.
