University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics

Meet Angie D.

Angie started working at Child Health Specialty Clinics in Dubuque as a Family Navigator in October 2017 after attending the Iowa Family Leadership Training Institute and realizing she could use her experience to help other families. At the time, she was a stay-at-home mom to two boys and spent a lot of time advocating for her younger son who has autism, ADHD, anxiety, and a language disorder.  Angie enjoys working with families and helping them find solutions to challenges they face having a special needs child.  She currently works with families in the Pediatric Integrated Health and Regional Autism Assistance programs.  Angie has a BSN degree and started her professional career working as a pediatric nurse.  During her free time, Angie enjoys spending time with her two sons and finding creative ways to keep them busy.
