Transition and Employment

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, signed into law in 2014, made major changes to Vocational Rehabilitation laws and programs. The goal of the new law is to empower individuals with disabilities to maximize employment, economic self-sufficiency, independence, inclusion, and integration into society.

Potentially eligible students can participate in Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), including:

  • Job exploration counseling
  • Work-based learning experiences
  • Workplace readiness training
  • Self-advocacy instruction
