Meet Our Family Navigators
Clementine began working as a Family Navigator in January of 2016. She is an alumni of the Iowa Family Leadership Training Institute. She parents two children with respective Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pediatric Acute-Onset Neuropsychiatric Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and major depression and anxiety. Clementine passionately works toward heightened social awareness of food and health, the primacy of neurodiversity, and the end of stigma regarding psychiatric needs.
Brittney has worked as a Family Navigator for Child Health Specialty Clinics since 2015 and is a Certified Family Peer Support Specialist. She has provided family to family support for a variety of programs including Early ACCESS, the Regional Autism Assistance Program, and the Pediatric Integrated Health Program. Brittney has 13 years’ experience in health care as a Licensed Practical Nurse providing direct patient care. She also is a member of Iowa’s State Council for Early ACCESS as a parent chair. Sharon has been providing family to family support for Child Health Specialty Clinics since 2006. She began as Family Navigator Network Coordinator in 2007. Sharon is passionate about serving families, enjoys helping them to discover their strengths and supporting them in advocating for change. Sharon and her husband have 5 children, their youngest had a rare metabolic disorder.
Rachel has been a Family Navigator with the Carroll Regional Center for 10 years and also serves as an Early ACCESS Service Coordinator. She is married with 3 children and came to this work shortly after her daughter was born prematurely and was referred to CHSC. Rachel is passionate about empowering parents to advocate for change in their schools, communities, and with law makers to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Beth and her husband have two sons. The youngest was born with Angelman Syndrome and receives services through the Intellectual Disability Waiver. Beth is a Family Navigator with the Fort Dodge Regional Center and also serves on the Board for the Autism Society of Iowa.
Stephanie began working as a Family Navigator in the Des Moines area in March 2022. She is the mother of two children. Her youngest daughter was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. Stephanie was a stay at home mom for 3 years prior to this position. Before becoming a stay at home mom she was a case manager working with new and expecting mothers which included many refugee and immigrant families in the Des Moines area. Stephanie enjoys helping families navigate their child’s diagnosis and helping them find the resources that they may need.
